FAQ
Instructions for your appliances are available to download from the Useful Downloads section above.
The development provides 54 parking spaces in total, including accessible bays and electric vehicle charging points — see the site plan above. Please park only in your allocated bay. Bay numbering/allocation process to confirm
Bin collection day is Wednesday, operating fortnightly (every 2 weeks) on rotation. Bin store locations and codes will be provided on move-in day. For security, please don't share codes with anyone. See Peterborough City Council's guidance on flats with shared communal bins.
Please don't pour fat, oil or grease down the sink — see Anglian Water's guidance on disposing of fat, oil and grease safely.
79 secure cycle spaces are provided across the site.
To comply with fire safety regulations, all communal hallways must be kept completely clear of personal belongings. The Landlord reserves the right to remove any personal property left in communal areas without notice. Removed items may be stored for a period of 7 days and then disposed of if unclaimed.
Lifts serve all floors across all four blocks. Both lifts are fully maintained and include 24/7 emergency call systems. Individual lift numbering and accessibility details to confirm per building.
All apartments are fitted with a Mechanical Extraction Ventilation (MEV) system, located in the airing cupboard. This reduces moisture and prevents condensation — please keep it switched on at all times.
Every apartment has FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) via the Openreach network, supporting providers including BT, Sky and TalkTalk. Apartments are fitted with Freeview TV. Sky Q and Virgin Media are not available, but Sky Stream (WiFi-based) can be used.
Radiators are electric, WiFi-controlled heaters, which can be controlled either via app or manually on the radiator itself.
Important — to confirm
The rest of the fire safety procedures (evacuation/stay-put policy, emergency contacts beyond the
out-of-hours number above) must be confirmed by the managing agent and fire risk assessor for The Mill
Yard specifically, and issued to residents before move-in. Luke confirmed the weekly Tuesday alarm
test and the lifts rule above are the same as Guild House, but the rest should not be assumed to match —
procedures depend on each building's own fire strategy and can differ between The Mill (a converted
building) and the three new-build blocks.
All maintenance issues should be reported directly to your letting agent in the first instance.
The development benefits from CCTV throughout communal areas and external spaces. Please help keep the building secure:
Remember — this is your home, and it's always worth taking care over who you let in.
